Biography

Viet Nguyen is a first generation Vietnamese American, born in Columbus, OH now working in Fargo, ND. Viet has a passion for the performing arts as he was a French Horn player in his local concert band and a Mellophone player in The Ohio State University Marching Band. As a first generation American to two Vietnamese parents, Viet understands the power and need for higher education to be accessible to all. Viet works with our College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, and helps establish positive relationships with our friends, alumni, and local businesses to help them make the impact that means the most to them and makes sure that they see the impact of their support. Outside of art and design fields, what inspires you?

Learning new Cultures, Traveling, Books and series created by Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino

 

What was your most memorable meal?

My most memorable meal was celebrating the Lunar New Year with my Family back in Columbus, before moving to Fargo! Shoutout to Pho Delicious in Downtown Fargo for making Pho just like the one my mother makes me!

 

In your office, you can only have three things, one book, one tool, and one picture. What would they be and why?

Madam C.J. Walker’s Gospel of Giving – Black Women’s Philanthropy during Jim Crow, to remind me of the power of community and giving. A picture of my family and partner to remind me of my stories and passions. My Ohio State Blanket to keep me warm during the Fargo Winter!
