University Distinguished Professor participates in Japanese symposium

Larry Reynolds, University Distinguished Professor of animal sciences, served on the program committee and chaired a session at the 9th International Ruminant Reproduction Symposium held Aug. 25-29 in Obihiro, Japan.

Reynolds chaired the “Placenta and Parturition” session and gave a platform presentation on “Steroidogenesis and the Initiation of Parturition,” along with two other presentations on the topic.

He also served as the abstracts editor and poster session organizer for more than 90 submitted abstracts. Reynolds is co-editor for the proceedings, titled “Reproduction in Domestic Ruminants VIII.”

The symposium emphasized the most current knowledge and state-of-the-art information on topics relevant to production in domestic ruminants. Reynolds has been involved with the symposium since 1998.
