Dennis Cooley, director of the Northern Plains Ethics Institute and professor of philosophy and ethics, has been selected to head the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics’ Business Ethics Interest Group.

According to its website, "the association is a comprehensive, international organization advancing scholarship, education and practice in practical and professional ethics. Through its individual and institutional members the association supports and trains the next generation of faculty and professionals, works to improve ethical conduct in the workplace and advances public dialogue in ethics and values."

The Business Ethics Interest Group organizes the business ethics tracks in the association’s annual meeting, as well as works on outreach efforts with the academic and business communities. Cooley has been a group member since its inception 10 years ago. The selection came at the association's annual meeting in February.

Cooley also was recruited to run for an open position on the association's executive board. Members of the board noted the Northern Plains Ethics Institute’s impactful research and outreach collaborative activities nominating Cooley. The election will be held in March, with results announced in April.
