Author Lindsey Davis to make U.S. book debut at NDSU

Lindsey Davis, historical novelist, will unveil her new book, “Falco: The Official Companion,” at the NDSU Bookstore in the Memorial Union Thursday, July 29. She will speak at the Century Theater in the union at 11 a.m.; afterwards she will sign and sell her new book, along with several older titles, at the NDSU Bookstore.

Her best known work is the Falco series, a sequence of crime stories set in ancient Rome and its empire.  Davis was born and raised in Birmingham, England. She graduated with an English degree from Oxford University and then worked for the civil service until 1985. She decided to pursue writing after she received runner up for the 1985 Georgette Heyer Historical Novel Prize for a romantic novel she had written.

Today she has written more than 20 books, published in the United States and United Kingdom.  She has won many literary awards and was honorary president of the Classical Association from 1997 to 1998.
