Add to Calendar 2026-10-28 16:00:00 2026-10-28 20:00:00 Pen to Processor Join us October 28th and November 3rd in Dickinson from 4 to 8 pm MDT to better understand how management decisions influence beef value.Livestock producers, feeders, direct marketers, and others interested in better understanding how cattle are valued throughout the beef supply chain are invited to attend “Pens to Processor: Connecting Live Animals to Carcass Value,” a two-session educational program hosted by North Dakota State University Extension.Topics covered throughout the program include the following:Live animal evaluation techniquesBeef carcass ultrasound technologyQuality and yield grade calculationsBeef carcass gradingGrid marketing systemsPricing tools and value-based marketingManagement strategies that affect carcass meritEstimating carcass value using primal cut pricingThe program will utilize multiple locations, including a cattle feeding operation and a beef processing facility, allowing participants to see firsthand how cattle are evaluated at various stages of the beef production chain.Attendance at both sessions is highly encouraged to get the most from this program! Registration is $30 per person and is limited to 30 participants.
