Cycnia oregonensis (Stretch 1873)

Common name: Oregon cycnia.

Hodges #: 8231.

Identification: Rfw 19.2 mm, fw grayish white, veins white (best seen in fresh specimens), vertex yellow, ptagiae gray, tegulae washed with gray.  Abdomen dorsally yellow orange with row of dorsal black spots. 

Similar species: 9280, 8254, 8238, 8230, 8228.

Distribution: southern Canada and United States, absent from the southeast.

Hosts: Larvae feed on Apocynym-- dogbane.
