2026 Crop Management Field School
Field school for agricultural professionals, including crop consultants, agronomists, agribusiness representatives, and Extension agents, who advise farmers with recommendations on crop production. Farmers are welcome to attend. The school’s objective is to provide updates, using field demonstrations and research trials, on crop pest and soil management recommendations.
All sessions will be conducted outdoors in our Weed Arboretum and in our plots. Please dress accordingly!
Agenda
- 9:15 a.m. Weed Management Sessions*
1. Weed Identification
Identify living weed exhibits: biology and control. - 2. Herbicide Site-of-Action
Identify herbicide groups by examining crop and weed injury symptoms.
- 1. Crop Growth Stages
Identification of growth stages to assist with crop management and timely pesticide application. - 2. Nutrient Deficiencies and Soil Fertility
Identify nutrient deficiencies and discuss fertility needs to support economical crop production.
*Participants will attend all sessions.
Certified Crop Advisers will have the opportunity to receive 5.0 continuing education credits (CEUs). CCA CEUs are available in these categories:
- 1.0 CM = Crop Management
- 3.0 PM = Pest Management
- 1.0 SW = Nutrient Management
Registration (including fee payment) is required by June 22. The workshop fee is $100 per person. The workshop is limited to 50 people. Registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants will receive reference materials, one meal, and refreshments.
