Join us for the 2025 Fingal Research Plot Tour on August 14
NDSU Extension invites farmers, agronomists, and ag professionals to attend the annual Fingal Research Plot Tour on Thursday, August 14, 2025, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Fingal plot site, six miles west of Fingal.
This year’s tour will showcase valuable research and field demonstrations designed to support decision-making for the 2026 growing season. Attendees will get an in-depth look at the corn hybrid performance test, offering insights into how different hybrids are performing under current regional conditions. Also featured is a prevented plant demonstration, with a special emphasis on forage production, a timely topic for many producers looking to diversify or make the most of prevented plant acres.
A highlight of this year’s program is a discussion on tar spot, a rapidly emerging corn disease gaining attention across the Midwest. Learn what to watch for and how to manage tar spot before it becomes a serious issue in your fields.
We’re excited to welcome our lineup of speakers, including:
- Kristin Simons, CREC Research Agronomist
- Ezra Aberle, CREC Research Specialist
- Andrew Friskop, NDSU Extension Cereal Plant Pathologist
- Alicia Harstad, NDSU Barnes County ANR Agent
Whether you're focused on maximizing yield, improving forage systems, or staying ahead of disease pressures, this event offers practical, research-based information you can apply immediately.
Don’t miss the opportunity to connect with peers, ask questions, and walk the plots with those conducting the research. No registration is required, and the event is free to attend. Brunch, sponsored by ADM, will immediately follow the plot tour.
Mark your calendar and join us August 14 at 8:30 a.m. in Fingal! We look forward to seeing you in the field. Our field site is located 11 miles south of I-94 on Peak Exit #296 or 6 miles west of Fingal.
