Colleagues share Core Values Award

In April, assistant Meat Lab manager Jacob Arntzen broke precedent and received not one but two Core Values Awards at the same time. One was given because he is “always kind, funny and patient” with the customers of the Meat Lab. He received another one for his “hard work, generosity and friendliness.”

The next month, three people in the department were given the award, which is a peer-to-peer traveling award. It is given to employees in the College of Ag who demonstrate integrity, impact and innovation.

Mikayla Faust, ag research technician, received the Core Values Award in May for her “willingness to assist wherever needed across all the animal units.” Jordan Schrupp, senior lecturer in the Vet Tech Program, also received the award. She was cited for her “dedication to student success and quiet, confident leadership.” In addition, research specialist Jessie Syring was honored because of her positive attitude and dedication to the department.

In June, sheep unit manager Stephanie Puro was given the award for being “dependable, hard working and always willing to help others.” Meanwhile, lecturer Lydia Trandem received a Core Values Award for going above and beyond her job duties, “whether it’s checking cattle in a blizzard or helping with community outreach events.”

Last but not least, Danielle Jensen, assistant manager of the Beef Cattle Research Complex, was honored with the award in July for being “a jill of all trades” and a great asset to the farm team.
