Description: Non-U.S. native tree. A distinctive dwarf selection of Korean birch, which grows in a diminutive, compact single stemmed form. The bark is an attractive creamy white, exfoliating into strips with a cinnamon-colored underside. An excellent specimen tree that is attractive in every season.

Native Habitat: Korea. Cultivar developed by North Dakota State University.
Form (Shape): Rounded compact growth habit.
Growth Rate: Slow.
Foliage: Deciduous. Summer foliage is bright green, fall color is a bright golden yellow.
Texture: Medium.
Flowers: Green catkins are produced in June to July, not ornamental.
Fruit: The fruit (strobiles) are produced in the fall, not ornamental.
Light: Full sun to very light shade.
Soil: Performs best in well-drained soil. Tolerant of higher pH soils without chlorosis.
Propagation: Stem cuttings and tissue culture.
Failure Patterns: Failure is uncommon. Adapted to conditions of greater cold and higher pH soils where the Betula nigra cultivars ‘Little King’ and Tecumseh Compact™ do not perform well.
Disease and Insects: Resistant to bronze birch borer, birch leaf miner and leaf spot. Exhibits no foliar stress symptoms such as leaf scorch or early leaf drop during drought.
Landscape Use: Recommended use in limited space landscapes such as entryways, patios, and small outdoor living spaces where an attractive focal point plant is d sired.
