Facts alone don't always change minds. In this webinar, Elisabeth Marnik, PhD, will draw from her own journey from being unvaccinated to becoming an immunologist to explore how personal experiences shape vaccine decision-making and influence responses to scientific information. Discover how storytelling can build trust, make science more memorable, and support more effective vaccine conversations.
About the Speaker
Elisabeth Adkins Marnik, PhD, is a science communicator and immunologist, and Executive Director of The Evidence Collective and Chief Scientific Officer of Those Nerdy Girls. Raised in a family that distrusted science and vaccines, she wrote about her journey in a 2026 New York Times guest essay, "I Grew Up Unvaccinated. Now I'm an Immunologist." Dr. Marnik is an inaugural member of the National Academy of Medicine's Action Collaborative on Building Trust in Health Science Through Community Partnership and Lived Experience and was named to Mainebiz's 2025 40 Under 40.
