Moments ago, I modified the ITS template (and consequently any future sites using this design) to use a second column.  The column is to be known as the "border" column and it will appear in the backend to users immediately.

Drag-and-drop of content between columns appears to work sporatically.  It is an issue of which I am aware and will work to resolve.

Border content on sub-pages will appear "floated right" without borders.  Borders are eliminated because IE does not render an empty border content correctly at this time.  However, I hope that sufficient padding/margin has been provided to clearly mark the content in the border column.

As a result of all this, some users may view an outdated version of the front page.  They should shift-refresh the page to force the browser to retrieve the newer version.
