The History of Black Student Unions in the United States

Discover how the Higher Education Act led to the creation of Black Student Unions and transformed advocacy for students of color. Join Jered Pigeon, the Director of Diversity and Inclusion from MSUM and an NDSU student panel to explore the history and current state of Black student organizations on campus.

Experience the magic of Holidays Around the World! Join us in the Memorial Union to explore a variety of holiday celebrations through interactive tables hosted by students and staff members. Discover unique traditions, and celebrate the beauty of diversity. Cake and punch will be served!

Hip Hop History Trivia Game Night (Featuring DJ Pretty Ricky)

Cater Hall Multipurpose Room, 6:30pm

Join us for a high-energy Hip-Hop Trivia event, where participants will compete to prove their knowledge of hip-hop music and culture! From finishing iconic lyrics to identifying legendary samples and famous quotes, this interactive game will test your skills and celebrate the history that shaped the genre. Gather your crew, vibe to the music, and claim the crown as Hip-Hop Trivia Champions!

Exploring African American Genealogy

Memorial Union: Sahnish, 3pm

Join us for an engaging presentation by Elyse Hill, an African American genealogist, who will share valuable tools and techniques for building a family tree and conducting family research. While the presentation highlights challenges African Americans may encounter in genealogy, everyone is welcome to attend and learn these methods to uncover their own family histories.

This event showcases the vibrant talents of our students. Afrique is a dynamic variety show featuring singing, dancing, original poetry, and a captivating fashion show. All are welcome to attend and celebrate in the closing of Black History Month!
