Dr. Thomas Mrozla, Assistant Professor at the University of South Dakota, (graduate of NDSU CJ Doctoral program) recently published an interesting article on policing during the pandemic.
Dr. Meghan Mitchell (graduate of the CJ Master's program at NDSU) recently published an article centered on mental health disorders and uncertainty for correctional officers. She is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Central Florida in the Department of Criminal Justice.
Dr. Carol Huynh (graduate of the NDSU CJ Doctoral program) recently published the paper, "Perceptions of police performance in a rapid-growth community" in the International Journal of Police Science & Management. Dr. Linsey Belisle (graduate of NDSU CJ Master's program) recently published an article featuring an outcome evaluation of the gender-responsive program, Girls...Moving On. Dr. Belisle earned her PhD from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). She is currently an Assistant professor in the Department of Criminal Justice and Social Work at the University of Houston-Downtown. Way to go Linsey!!
Brandon Hunter (NDSU CJ doctoral student) presented his research with Dr. AJ Myer at the 2021 American Society of Criminology conference in Chicago. He presentation was "Examining the Implementation of Pretrial Supervision Services in a Midwest State."
Dr. Ericka Wentz (alum of NDSU CJ Doctoral program) co-authored a paper focused on why some college students choose not to report sexual assault victimization. Dr. Wentz is an Associate Professor of Criminal Justice at the University of West Georgia.
Congratulations to Heather Achtenberg-Heck on her recent promotion!! Heather is currently a U.S. Probation Officer. She was recently promoted to a position which allows her to conduct research with the U.S. Probation Administrative Office in Washington DC. Heather graduated from the NDSU Criminal Justice Master's program in 2009.
Myungwoo Lee, NDSU CJ Doctoral student, was awarded a College of Graduate and Interdisciplinary Studies Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship for January - April 2021. Dr. Benton of the Graduate School noted that "This fellowship represents a substantial accomplishment given the competitive nature of the applicant pool."
Congratulations!! Dr. Ericka Wentz was granted tenure and promotion to Associate Professor effective fall 2020. Ericka graduated from the Criminal Justice PhD program at NDSU in 2014 and is currently employed at the University of West Georgia.
Congratulations on earning tenure and promotion to Associate Professor Dr. Dahle! Tod graduated from the Criminal Justice PhD program at NDSU and is currently employed at Minnesota State University - Mankato. His tenure and promotion are effective fall 2021.
