The NDSU Computer Science Department offers multiple degree and certificate programs related to cyber security. 

B.S. in Cybersecurity

NDSU has recently launched a B.S. degree with a major in cybersecurity.  This degree prepares students to excel in this high growth and highly sought after area.  This program is available online or on campus.

M.S. and Ph.D. in Software and Security Enginering

Learn about how to develop software to prevent it being compromised and how to secure existing systems against compromise with a M.S. or Ph.D. in Software and Security Engineering.  At the M.S. level, students complete a research thesis or project.  Ph.D. students complete novel research.

Undergraduate Certificate in Cyber Security

The NDSU Computer Science Department offers an undergraduate certificate in cyber security. This certificate is well suited to students seeking to learn about cybersecurity or to get a credential in cybersecurity along with a major in another area.

Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security

The NDSU Computer Science Department offers a graduate certificate in cyber security. This certificate is well suited to working practitioners or to be pursued concurrently with other graduate studies. Students take three core courses and one elective course. This certificate program gives students a broad foundation of cyber security. It is possible to take courses at Minot State University and the University of North Dakota that can be used towards this progam.

B.S. in Computer Science with Option in Cyber Security

As part of a bachelor of science in computer science degree program students can take a sequence of classes focused on cyber security. Upon successful completion of these classes they will have an option noted on their transcript indicating their competence in cyber security.

The NDSU Department of Computer Science is well equipped to support graduate student research in cyber security related topics leading to a Master of Science (M.S.) or Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in computer science.
