Program Details

• Credit Requirements: 30 credits.
• Coursework: Areas of human development, learning, foundations of education, school curriculum, instructional strategies, assessment, and further study in areas of interest.
• Capstone Options: Choose between a thesis (M.S.) or a practicum/project (M.Ed.).

Culminating Experience (minimum of 3 credits)

Both MEd and MS pathways are possible. The MS degree culminates in a thesis and the MEd in a project.

• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Professional teaching or educational experience (preferred but not mandatory).
• Statement of Purpose outlining your career goals and program expectations.
• Statement of career goals consistent with the five propositions of the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) and reasons for applying to the program.
• Three letters of recommendation. The School of Education reserves the right to obtain additional information from qualified professionals about the student's professional competence.
