‘Earning my degree from NDSU will set me up for any career path I choose’

For Rocky Kreuser, NDSU is the best of both worlds. It’s a place where he can build connections and find lifelong friends, while having opportunities to excel both on and off the basketball court.

“As a kid, I always dreamed of playing Division I basketball,” said Kreuser, a senior forward from White Bear Lake, Minnesota. “But to come to NDSU and fall in love with the campus and the people and to know I’ll be well prepared for my career makes my experience the best it could be.”

In addition to his personal and team success in athletics, Kreuser also has earned plenty of recognition for his academic achievements. He’s been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches Honors Court, the Summit League’s five-man Academic All-League Team and the Summit League Academic Honor Roll.

His classroom success has been helped by faculty commitment to students and the many resources available at NDSU, he said.

“Whether it’s tutoring, advising or support from teammates, there are always people there to help you along the way,” Kreuser said. “Being surrounded by a strong community has helped me succeed as both a student and athlete.”

Kreuser plans to attend physical therapy school after he completes his bachelor’s degree. His NDSU experience is providing him with the knowledge and experience to excel in his internship and beyond.

“The time I’m spending at NDSU as a student-athlete is allowing me to develop skills that will transfer into my career,” Kreuser said. “Earning my degree from NDSU will set me up for any career path I choose.”
