A New Chapter Begins: Dr. Johnson to Lead Newly Created School

Teresa Conner, dean of College of Health and Human Sciences is pleased to announce the appointment of Pamela Jo Johnson, PhD, MPH, as the acting executive director of the newly created School of Health Systems and Innovation. Dr. Johnson worked closely with Dean Conner and colleagues to develop this new School which houses graduate programs in public health, health care administration, and the undergraduate degree in health services. A graduate degree in health informatics is planned for the future and share core courses with the above graduate degrees. School of Health Systems and Innovation presents a significant opportunity to meet workforce needs in North Dakota and beyond while providing an avenue for faculty joint appointments and faculty in residence from community and corporate partners.

Dr. Johnson is a distinguished health services epidemiologist and survey methodologist whose research focuses on access to health and mental health services, including complementary and alternative medicine. Her work also encompasses midlife women’s health and the health of individuals with mental disorders.
