SHSI Strategic Initiatives Lead Announcement

The School of Health Systems & Innovation (SHSI) is pleased to announce that Dr. Mary Larson will serve as Strategic Initiatives Lead during the School’s initial development phase.

In this role, Dr. Larson will work in close partnership with the Acting Executive Director and academic and center program leadership to advance strategic initiatives that strengthen integration across programs and position the School for future growth. This includes leading cross-cutting efforts to connect public health, healthcare systems, and community partnerships, as well as guiding the development of the School’s Innovation Hub.

A key focus of this role will be to cultivate and strengthen meaningful intersections across the College of Health and Human Sciences. Dr. Larson will also engage partners across the University and external organizations to align academic programs with workforce and community needs.

Dr. Larson brings extensive experience in systems thinking, interdisciplinary collaboration, and community-engaged approaches to health. Her work will focus on identifying and advancing opportunities that enhance coordination across disciplines and sectors, contributing to a more connected, responsive, and impactful health systems workforce.

This role reflects the School’s commitment to a systems-based approach to health and positions Dr. Larson to shape and advance the School’s strategic development during this foundational period.
