Clint Rossland Honored with IME Recognition of Excellence Award

Clint Rossland

The NDSU Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering is proud to announce that Clint Rossland has been awarded the prestigious IME Recognition of Excellence Award. This honor highlights his outstanding career in healthcare systems engineering, dedication to student learning, and service to both the IME Department and the greater community.

A 2003 graduate of NDSU’s IME program, Rossland has built a distinguished career driving operational improvements in both manufacturing and healthcare sectors. He began his professional journey as a Business Advisor with Dakota MEP, helping regional manufacturers implement lean principles. He then spent nearly 15 years at Sanford Health as a Health Systems Engineer, leading major process improvement initiatives, and contributing to the planning and design of the Sanford Fargo Medical Center. Most recently, Clint started a new position as a Senior Process Expert at Essentia Health.

Clint’s dedication to the IMSE program runs deep. Since 2020, he has served as an adjunct professor, teaching courses such as Hospital Management Engineering, Facility Design, and Introduction to IME. Known for bringing real-world experience into the classroom, he is praised by students for his hands-on teaching style, engaging guest speakers, and relevant projects that bridge theory and application.

He has also been a member of the IMSE Advisory Board since 2007, including time as chair, where his leadership has guided curriculum development, capstone project reviews, and student mentorship. Beyond the university, Clint has served on numerous committees for Moorhead Schools, demonstrating his strong commitment to education and public service.

Clint shows what the IMSE Department is all about, using engineering to make a difference in people’s lives. We’re proud to recognize his hard work and continued support of our program.

Congratulations to Clint Rossland on this well-deserved honor!
