Jo Thompson Named Administration Team Leader

Bismarck – The NDSU-North Dakota Forest Service welcomes Jo Thompson as the new Administration Team Leader. Jo will be responsible for the leadership, administrative, and management functions of the “Administration” team. The team is responsible for performing all administrative functions including fiscal, personnel, and office management for the Office of the State Forester. In this role, she will lead direction on budget preparation, grants and contracts oversight, payroll, accounts payable and receivable, information technology planning, program planning, monitoring and evaluation.
Jo attended college at Dickinson State University and obtained a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration. She comes to the agency with experience in the private sector and country government, including Weed Control and Extension. Her family has strong ties to wildland firefighting and the value that first responders provide in small communities. She says, “This role will allow me to utilize my professional and personal experiences to support wildfire response, forest stewardship, and outreach.”
