NDSU Fashion Show Wednesday, April 29

NDSU’s annual fashion show will take place on Wednesday, April 29, at noon in the Oceti Sakowin Ballroom in NDSU’s Memorial Union.
This year’s theme is Community Garden: A Fashion Show in Bloom.
“It focuses on flowers as a means of facilitating connections and building community. This year, we were very inspired by the idea of leaning into our community in times of uncertainty to find support and belonging,” said Maddie Kersten, media and documentation team member for the fashion show production course.
There will be eight student designers, seven senior designers and three alumni showcasing their work. Through community collaboration, the show will also include styles from 11 local retailers. Additionally, two local partnership projects will be featured: the apparel fit and construction class partnered with the Renaissance Hall shop to create custom utility aprons, and Joy Studio to create no-waste garments out of vintage handwoven fabrics from China.
“The best part of planning this year’s fashion show has been the opportunity to bring together so many different parts of our community for a common goal, especially our partners on campus,” Kersten said.
The event is free and open to the public. It will be livestreamed by the Bison Information Network.
