ACE Tutoring celebrates tutor training program recertification

Student Success Programs is pleased to announce that ACE Tutoring has been awarded recertification as a Level 1 certified tutor training program by the internationally recognized College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA).
ACE Tutoring has maintained this certification status since 2007 by consistently meeting rigorous standards for tutor selection, training, direct service and evaluation. Through the years, hundreds of peer tutors have completed the certified training, which has allowed the program to deliver high quality tutoring to thousands of NDSU undergraduate students.
The tutors themselves benefit from the training program in various ways:
- “Training built a base for me to grow as a tutor and enabled me to help students actively learn by challenging concepts and material while boosting my confidence as a tutor.” - Madison O’Shea, junior majoring in electrical engineering
- “The CRLA training helped provide me with the knowledge and experience that allowed me to live up to the standards and become a better tutor.” – Micah Van Hal, junior majoring in mathematics and statistics pre-actuarial
- “Knowing the training is certified makes me have even more pride and purpose as an ACE tutor.” - Laura Syltie, a sophomore majoring in accounting and finance
For more than 30 years, CRLA has been a leader in learning assistance, reading, and academic support programs with almost 1,300 members. CRLA’s International Tutor Training Program Certification (ITTPC) application is peer reviewed to ensure training programs meet or exceed an internationally accepted standard of skills and training for tutors. ACE Tutoring is proud to be among the 2,000 certified training programs worldwide.
