NDSU Staff Senate leadership elected

NDSU Staff Senate recently conducted elections for the next academic year.
Newly elected senators are Jessica Anderson, Vanessa Attaya, Jennifer Connell, Abhijit Das, Tanya Erickson, Brooks Hetle, Ye Wana Hlaing, Janet Koppinger, Rebecca Sandell, Shayla Schumacher, Clare Shields, Hanna Stout, Matthew Warner and Savannah Wateland.
Senators who were reelected for a new term are Kristina Astrup, Ben Bernard, Olivia Buller, Daniel Erichsen, Valerie Jones, Jeremy Kopp, Libby Hardwick-Nelson, April Helgaas, Alicia LaFerriere, Melissa Lamp, Margaret Latterell, Amrita Ray and Miranda Schlichting. All senators serve a two-year term.
Staff Senate also elected Kristi Steinmann as president, and she will serve one year as president-elect before becoming president for the following year. Also occurring at the meeting was a transition in the president role from Joshua Schroetter to Shiloh Susag, who will now serve as president over the next year.
For the open Executive Committee roles, April Helgaas was reelected as treasurer, Megan Hubbard was elected as membership officer, Kay Hopkins was elected as public relations officer, Nazrin Ferdousi was elected as information technology officer, and Jeremy Kopp, Melissa Lamp and Libby Hardwick-Nelson were elected as Members-at-Large.
For the open Staff Senate Joint Committee positions, Daniel Erichsen, Janet Koppinger and Kay Hopkins were elected to the Campus Space and Facilitates Committee; Alicia LaFerriere was reelected to the Library Committee; and Matt Diischer and Vanessa Attaya were elected to the University Athletics Committee.
For State Staff Senate, Brooks Hetle was elected to the three-year term, and Jenn Young was reelected to serve out the one-year remainder of a term.
Lastly, Valerie Jones was reelected to serve as the Access and Opportunity Committee Chair.
The next general Staff Senate meeting will be in August, and all are welcome to attend.
