Registration open for NDSU School of Education online Teaching, Leadership and Learning Conference

NDSU’s School of Education is hosting its first-ever online Teaching, Leadership and Learning Conference on Tuesday, June 16. The one-day conference is open to educators nationwide.
The conference will begin with keynote speaker, North Dakota State Superintendent Levi Bachmeier, who will address the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction’s current efforts to lead America with the best schools in the nation.
Following the keynote, attendees will have the opportunity to select sessions along three different tracks. The whole child track focuses on social-emotional learning, physical well-being, belonging and student voice, supporting all areas of learner needs. The inclusive access track focuses on strategies that ensure all learners have high-quality instruction, culturally responsive teaching and meaningful participation, no matter their background, ability or context. The high-impact instruction for lasting learning track focuses on evidence-based teaching practices and assessment that build deep understanding, transferable skills and long-term student success.
Participants can follow one track throughout the event or attend sessions from different tracks based on their interests. Each session is 30 minutes and will end with a live Q&A.
The conference will wrap up with a panel discussion on supporting inclusive educational excellence for Indigenous children. The panelists include Shane Martin, superintendent of Turtle Mountain Community High School; Sashay Schettler, assistant director for Indian and Multicultural Education with the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction; and Ricky White, First Nations Consultant.
Attendees can also earn professional development credits or continuing education units. For more information and instructions on how to register, visit the conference webpage under Continued Learning.
