Homecoming 2026 schedule set
NDSU students, staff, faculty, alumni, fans and community members are invited to come together in celebration of NDSU’s 2026 Homecoming and share Bison pride at events scheduled throughout the week of Sept. 28-Oct. 3.
At NDSU, Homecoming is a campuswide celebration that honors our land-grant mission, highlights our academic and athletic excellence and showcases our vibrant Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo community.
This year’s Homecoming will be especially memorable with the inauguration of NDSU’s 16th President Marshall Stewart on Thursday, Oct. 1.
The NDSU community is invited to take part in events throughout the week.

Monday, Sept. 28
Homecoming Kickoff
11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Churchill Field
Start Homecoming week with yard games, ice cream treats and photos with Thundar. The Bison Pep Band are special guests for the event.
Tuesday, Sept. 29
Serve with the Herd
Noon – 6 p.m.
Volunteer network is hosting Serve with the Herd, a community service project day. Students can sign up for a minimum two-hour shift at a local non-profit organization.
Wednesday, Sept. 30
Homecoming Show – Blue Key
7:30 p.m.
Challey Hall, Festival Concert Hall
Stop by Challey Hall for the traditional Blue Key show and the announcement of the 2026 Homecoming Court. NDSU students get in free; $10 admission for the general public.
Thursday, Oct. 1
16th President’s Inauguration Ceremony
9-11 a.m.
Challey Hall, Festival Concert Hall
A formal academic ceremony, President Stewart’s full inauguration program will also include this year’s State of the University address.
Inaugural community and campus lunch
11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Administration Avenue
Celebrate the inauguration of President Marshall Stewart with a free community meal.
Community fireworks celebration
9 p.m.
Red River Valley Fairgrounds, Grandstand
Continue the celebration of the inauguration of our 16th president with a free fireworks display open to the community.
Friday, Oct. 2
Green and Yellow lunch
11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
West and Residence Dining Centers
Wear your best green and yellow Bison gear and fuel up for Homecoming weekend with Green and Yellow Lunch. All students, staff, faculty and guests eat for just $7.
Richard Offerdahl ’65 Engineering Complex Ribbon-cutting and Dedication
2 p.m.
Richard Offerdahl ’65 Engineering Complex
Attend a historic event for NDSU and the College of Engineering and explore the new complex during the open house afterward.
Bison Bash and NDSU Student-Made Launch
4-6:30 p.m.
Churchill Field
Enjoy inflatable games, a DJ, food trucks, and more with activities for the whole family. This year will also feature the NDSU Student-Made marketplace, where attendees can shop student-created products.
Homecoming Parade
6 p.m.
NDSU Main Campus – begins at 17th Avenue North and University Drive
Show off your school spirit by dressing in your green and yellow and attending the annual Homecoming Parade.

Student tailgate

Fargodome
Check out the student tailgate filled with free food, music and Bison pride.
NDSU Football vs. University of Wyoming
2:30 p.m.
