The financial planning and wealth management minor prepares students to help individuals and families navigate financial decisions. The program is aligned with modern financial planning curriculum requirements, the program provides foundational knowledge in investments, insurance, retirement, tax and estate planning while emphasizing ethical responsibility and acting in clients’ best interest. Students enrolled in the minor will learn through real-world, case-based learning.

“Having our minor registered by the CFP Board confirms that our program offers industry-aligned curriculum that is approved by the professionals who set and enforce professional standards for financial planners,” said Professor Fariz Huseynov, chair of the Department of Finance, Supply Chain, and Transportation and professor of finance. “Our faculty teach students the necessary and practical skills across all major financial planning areas. By completing the minor, students gain a nationally recognized credential pathway and meet the education requirement for sitting for the CFO exam right away. This saves them time and money.”
