First look of upcoming Germans from Russia exhibit unveiled

The Germans from Russia Heritage Collection (GRHC), NDSU Libraries, has partnered with Upland Exhibits of Newton, Kansas, to design, fabricate and install a permanent exhibit showcasing the history, culture and legacy of Germans from Russia. Early renderings are now available, offering the public a first look at the vision for this major cultural project.

Upland Exhibits specializes in museum-quality exhibits and was chosen for its expertise in captivating storytelling, innovative exhibit solutions and creative functional design. The exhibit is set to include immersive design, historical photographs, artifacts and unique interactive experiences that utilize audio and video elements from the collection. The exhibit will feature hands-on opportunities for students to curate future exhibits and produce short video documentaries, expanding and enriching the experience for years to come.

We are thrilled to partner with Upland Exhibits to bring this vision to life.”

This collaborative effort between the GRHC and Upland Exhibits ensures both historical accuracy and meaningful representation of the Germans from Russia story. Planning and development will continue into early 2026 and the exhibit is scheduled to open by Summer 2026 at the NDSU Main Library.
