William Hallman, a senior accounting major in NDSU’s College of Business, has been selected as a Public Company Accounting Oversight Board Scholar, earning a prestigious $15,000 scholarship for the 2025-26 academic year.

The PCAOB Scholars program supports the next generation of auditors, and Hallman is one of only a select group of students nationwide to receive this honor. Since its inception in 2011, the program has awarded more than $32.5 million in scholarships to nearly 3,000 students across the country.

For Hallman, the scholarship provides meaningful support as he prepares for his next chapter.
“This scholarship means a lot to me as it will allow me to pursue my master’s degree without worrying about the cost of tuition,” he said. “It also gives me the ability to devote my time to studying and continuing to work hard in my coursework.”

Hallman is completing his final semester at NDSU with plans to pursue a master’s degree in spring 2026.

He hopes to become a licensed Certified Public Accountant and establish a career in industry accounting and auditing. In the meantime, he said he’s focused on finishing strong academically and cheering on the Bison football team in hopes of another national championship.
