NDSU celebrates 10 years of Giving Day

Donations provide critical funding that directly benefits students.

NDSU students and Thundar give the horns up.

The NDSU will celebrate the 10th anniversary of Giving Day with a two-day online campaign Oct. 14–15, 2025. During 1,890 minutes — a nod to the year of NDSU’s founding — alumni, faculty, staff, students and supporters are encouraged to come together to support scholarships, research, programs and campus priorities.

Donations can be made through the NDSU Foundation’s online Giving Day portal. Gifts of any size are welcome, and many departments and programs will feature challenge matches or special campaigns to increase participation. Each college and several university units will host “Spotlight Hours” on social media throughout the two days, highlighting impact stories, student experiences and ongoing needs across campus.

NDSU Giving Day began a decade ago to unite the Bison community around a shared goal of supporting students and programs. Over the past decade, thousands of donors have participated, contributing millions of dollars to student scholarships, faculty research, outreach programs and capital improvements. The event has grown to include alumni from every state and dozens of countries, making it one of NDSU’s most visible and impactful annual traditions.

The 2025 campaign continues that tradition with an expanded focus on community storytelling, increased visibility for college and departmental priorities, and a renewed emphasis on donor engagement. The two-day format provides more opportunities for giving, participation and interaction with the NDSU community both in person and online.

Giving Day donations provide critical funding that directly benefits students. Contributions help fund scholarships that reduce financial barriers, support research and creative activity, and sustain programs that expand learning opportunities beyond the classroom.

Many donors also direct their gifts toward outreach and engagement initiatives that help NDSU fulfill its land-grant mission of serving North Dakota and advancing the state’s economy.

As a student-focused, land-grant, research university, NDSU continues to focus on its mission to serve the people of North Dakota through education, research and outreach. Its vision looks toward the horizon, positioning NDSU as a leader on the frontier of innovation in agriculture, engineering, artificial intelligence, health professions and beyond.

Giving Day is an opportunity to strengthen that vision and reaffirm the community’s shared belief in what makes NDSU special. Donations can be made at the NDSU Foundation’s Giving Day website.
