NDSU will celebrate International Education Week on Nov. 17–19 with events that highlight cultural diversity, global learning and the international community’s contributions to campus life.

Organized by NDSU’s International Student and Study Abroad Services, the week features opportunities for students, faculty and staff to explore world cultures and engage in meaningful conversations about international experiences and perspectives.

The celebration begins Monday, Nov. 17, with Global Grounds from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Memorial Union, across from Caribou Coffee. Participants can sample coffees from around the world and connect with others while sharing favorite flavors and travel stories.

On Tuesday, Nov. 18, Cookies and Countries will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Memorial Union. Attendees can decorate sugar cookies in the colors of their favorite country’s flag while learning more about study abroad and international programs.

Wednesday’s events begin with Global Connections: How NDSU Is Part of the World from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Memorial Union. Through posters and displays, students and faculty will showcase the many ways international cultures, research and traditions shape life at NDSU.

At noon, Expand Your Research Horizons: Higher Education and Research Funding in Brazil will feature Roberto Gomes, NDSU assistant professor of pharmaceutical sciences, presenting an overview of joint research opportunities between NDSU and Brazilian universities. The session runs until 1:30 p.m. in the Memorial Union’s Meinecke Boardroom.

The week concludes Wednesday evening with a free screening of the award-winning film Minari from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Memorial Union’s Anishinaabe Theater. The film follows a Korean American family pursuing their dream of building a new life in rural Arkansas. Free popcorn will be provided to the first 50 attendees.

Dining Centers also will feature international menus throughout the week, offering students a taste of global cuisine.
