NDSU engineering student and race car driver Bryce Haugeberg will return to campus on Friday, June 27, with his eye-catching Bison-themed race car for a special meet-and-greet event.

Haugeberg, who is from West Fargo, North Dakota, will be at the NDSU Bookstore from 1p.m. to 3:30 p.m. to sign autographs, take photos and showcase the custom-wrapped car that proudly features NDSU branding and colors. Fans also will be able to purchase Haugeberg’s merchandise, which is carried by the bookstore.

Haugeberg, a mechanical engineering major, has become known for applying his NDSU education directly to the track by combining engineering principles with a lifelong passion for racing. He debuted the NDSU-wrapped car earlier this season. Haugeberg drives the Bison-branded car in the ARCA Menards Series, a feeder program for NASCAR.

“I’ve got to really thank NDSU for hopping on board and starting this partnership with me,” Haugeberg told The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead earlier this year. “It’s really cool, especially being a fourth-generation student at the college. I just want to support Fargo and I’m proud to be a Bison. I hope to impress and make Bison Nation proud.”

The Bison-branded car and merchandise have sparked enthusiasm among students, alumni and racing fans alike. Haugeberg credits his professors and coursework with giving him a strong foundation in problem-solving and design, skills he now uses in real time as a driver and technician.

The June 27 event is open to the public and celebrates not just Haugeberg’s racing achievements but the hands-on, real-world learning that defines the NDSU experience.
