NDSU will celebrate its fall 2025 commencement ceremonies Friday, Dec. 19, at the Sanford Health Athletic Complex.

The 2 p.m. ceremony will include graduates from the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Health and Human Sciences and Interdisciplinary Studies.

The 5 p.m. ceremony will recognize graduates from the College of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Natural Resources, College of Engineering and College of Business.

The reputation of NDSU graduates precedes them. These graduates are now able to showcase their talents as NDSU alums,” said Jackie Schluchter, NDSU associate registrar. “We are excited to celebrate with them at our commencement ceremonies on December 19th.”

As of early December, approximately 625 candidates are expected to participate, with 963 students eligible for fall graduation.

Wendi Wheeler, a master’s degree candidate in counselor education, will address graduates at the 2 p.m. ceremony. Wheeler, a Rolette, North Dakota, native, will speak about perseverance, returning to education after decades away and the power of rewriting your story. Her remarks will highlight resilience, belonging and the belief that it is never too late to pursue a long-held dream.

Josi Solsaa, who is earning a master’s degree in animal sciences, will speak at the 5 p.m. ceremony. Solsaa, from Watertown, South Dakota, will reflect on beginning college during the COVID-19 pandemic, finding confidence through research and undergraduate leadership roles and learning what it means to face challenges “like a Bison.”

She will encourage graduates to pursue opportunity with courage and to carry forward the relationships that shaped their time at NDSU.

Emma Dodds, who is graduating with a degree in vocal music education, will perform “The Star-Spangled Banner and “The Yellow and the Green,” NDSU’s school song at both ceremonies.

Both ceremonies also will include traditional academic processionals, remarks from President David Cook and recognition of students across doctoral, master’s and baccalaureate programs.
