NDSU’s College of Business will offer a fully online Master of Business Administration degree beginning in the fall. The program is crafted to fit the lifestyle of working professionals, equipping them with the skills needed to lead and succeed in any business environment while leveraging the power of online learning to connect them with global opportunities.

“We are excited to bring NDSU’s tradition of excellence to a wider audience through our online MBA program,” said Kathryn Birkeland, Ronald G. and Kaye S. Olson Dean of the College of Business. “This innovative format will empower professionals to elevate their careers while accommodating their busy schedules.”

Individuals pursuing an online MBA degree at NDSU will benefit from the flexibility and convenience of attending virtually. Synchronous classes will be offered in the evening to allow working professionals to balance their career with earning an advanced degree.

A comprehensive curriculum is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge required to excel in the dynamic and competitive business landscape. While all students gain knowledge in core areas, some additional focus areas include leadership and managerial skills, business analytics, and organizational change management.

Experienced professors who are experts in their respective fields will bring real-world insights to the virtual classroom.

“In our online MBA program, we don’t just teach business, we immerse students in it,” said Linlin Chai, NDSU associate professor of marketing and interim MBA director. “Through simulations, case studies and cutting-edge technologies, we offer an experiential learning journey that equips our students to tackle real-world challenges head-on. It’s about transforming theoretical knowledge into actionable insights for tangible success.”

Collaborative and interactive learning are critical elements of the online MBA program at NDSU. Most classes will be taught synchronously, and students will be asked to engage with course material through interactive assignments. Networking with fellow classmates will be built into the online experience.

“The online MBA degree path is the latest example of how NDSU is transforming to reach students and meet workforce demands,” NDSU President David Cook said. “The program is built for working adults, bringing the virtual classroom, expert faculty and industry connections to learners who need flexibility but want a degree that will advance their careers.”

NDSU’s online MBA degree will contribute to the workforce needs of our state and region by providing business leaders the skills and knowledge to make big career impacts. There were 1,633 unique job postings in North Dakota this past year that would be a good fit for applicants with an MBA.

Employers may consider providing support to staff interested in pursuing the online MBA degree as a cost-effective retention strategy.

The application is now open. The program is open to candidates with five years of professional experience. Diverse academic and professional backgrounds will be accepted to foster an inclusive learning environment.
