NDSU named a 2025–26 College of Distinction
The honor reflects NDSU’s holistic approach to education and its mission as a student-focused, land-grant, research university.
NDSU has been named a 2025–2026 College of Distinction, a designation that celebrates institutions for their commitment to engaged, student-centered learning and post-graduation success. In addition to earning the overall College of Distinction honor, NDSU received specialized recognition in business, education, engineering, career development, military support, and international student engagement.
“Being recognized as a College of Distinction affirms North Dakota State University's ongoing commitment to academic excellence, student engagement, and regional impact,” said Seinquis Leinen, senior director for strategic enrollment management. “At NDSU, we empower our students to lead, innovate, and serve with purpose, helping to strengthen communities across North Dakota and beyond.”
Colleges of Distinction evaluates schools based on four key areas: Engaged Students, Great Teaching, Vibrant Community, and Successful Outcomes. NDSU stood out for its hands-on learning experiences, strong faculty mentorship, and dedication to preparing students for meaningful careers.
