NDSU presents beloved musical “The Sound of Music” in April

This spring, NDSU will be alive with “The Sound of Music.” Theatre NDSU and the Challey School of Music present a co-production of the classic story about hope, love and resilience April 9 – 12 in Festival Concert Hall.
The play follows Maria (Olivia Desing), a young nun who is sent to the von Trapp family to serve as governess to seven unruly children. While there, Maria teaches the children to sing and gradually captures the heart of Captain von Trapp (Ian Strand) – only to have their world splintered by the invasion of the Nazis.
Based on the true story of the Trapp Family Singers, “The Sound of Music” reminds us that with heartfelt compassion and determination, every mountain can be climbed.
Performances of “The Sound of Music” are at 7:30 p.m. April 9 – 11 and 2 p.m. April 12 in Festival Concert Hall. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and $10 for students of all ages, including children. Purchase tickets online or call the Box Office at 701-231-7969.
Festival Concert Hall is located in Challey Hall (formerly known as the Reineke Fine Arts Center) at 1511 12th Avenue North on NDSU’s campus.
