Brenda Lantz, associate director of NDSU’s Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute and director of its Commercial Vehicle Safety Center, has been named to the advisory board for Bluewire LLC, a new company that deploys data analysis in defense of the trucking industry.

Lantz has been a researcher at UGPTI since 1990, specializing in the areas of intelligent transportation systems for commercial vehicle operations, business logistics and commercial vehicle safety. As director of the Commercial Vehicle Safety Center, she leads research and analysis projects, and serves as a point of contact for universities, law, enforcement and driver licensing agencies seeking assistance to establish partnerships to improve commercial vehicle safety.

Bluewire, based in Oregon, uses artificial intelligence powered software to present trucking companies with an overview of exposure points that can be exploited and used against them. Advisory board members provide expert guidance and insight into trends and technology in the trucking industry.
