On-Campus Orientation

Orientation will help prepare you for your first semester at NDSU! Through interactive and informational sessions, you will make connections, learn about campus resources and support, and gain insight into student life and expectations.

Guests and family members are invited to Orientation! Students and guests will start and end the day together while the middle of the day has separate programming designed for each group. Please see the schedules below for details.

Please note: Students are expected to attend all sessions and the schedule cannot be individualized.

- Finger scan for entrance to dining halls
- Class Registration (for those not yet registered)
- Financial Aid Consultations (optional)
- Military Benefits Consultations (optional)
- Employment interviews with Dining Services and/or Wellness Center (optional)
- Set up a U.S. Bank Account (optional)
- Campus Tour (optional)

- Please note: Guests will not accompany students to class registration.

New Student Virtual Panel

The New Student Virtual Panel is an option for first-year students starting summer semester and first-year students who will complete their entire degrees online. During this virtual panel, staff from a variety of departments will answer the most frequently asked questions of new students. You'll gain insights into campus resources, policies, and how to make a positive transition during your first semester at NDSU. You'll also have an opportunity to ask your own questions.

The virtual panel will utilize the Zoom webinar platform.

Topics covered include:

  • Technology accounts and tools
  • Transfer credit process and Transfer Credit Reports
  • Degree requirements
  • Academic advising
  • Course materials
  • Online classes, resources, and tips for success
  • Paying for college, including cost of attendance, financial aid, scholarships, payment and more
  • ID cards and parking permits
  • Student engagement

A Zoom link will be emailed to those with reservations several days prior to the virtual panel.
