Bryce Anderson is a Lecturer in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at North Dakota State University. He holds a PhD and MA in Social Anthropology from Dalhousie University (Canada), and a BA in anthropology from the Memorial University of Newfoundland (Canada). His teaching and research interests span cultural and medical anthropology, with a particular focus on suicide, mental health, social theory, and the social and structural dimensions of health and well-being.

Areas of Study & Research

My research focuses on the social and cultural dimensions of suicide and mental health, particularly through the application and development of social theory. My work in South Korea examines how social, cultural, and structural conditions shape young people's experiences and understandings of suicide and distress. I also conduct research on Indigenous suicide and suicide prevention in North America, with particular attention to structural violence, colonialism, public discourse, and mental health policy.
