Eric Gjerdevig, MBA

I’m an educator, entrepreneur, and accidental sales professional who found a passion for helping others succeed in sales. Today, I serve as Lecturer and Executive Director of the North Dakota State University Center for Professional Selling and Sales Technology, where I teach highly experiential courses in sales, negotiation, and sales technology. My mission is clear: to develop the next generation of confident, high-performing sales professionals.

With 20 years of experience in the technology industry—including co-founding and growing Summit Group Software into an award-winning Microsoft Gold Partner—I bring real-world insights into the classroom and coaching sessions. I enjoy leading NDSU’s competitive sales team, mentoring students through their career journeys, and helping corporate partners connect with top early-career talent.

Beyond campus, I’m the author of Power to Sell, a book on the value of human-to-human skills in an increasingly digital world, and a co-host of the Sales Hangover Podcast, where we share stories and lessons for young sales professionals.
