Jill Backlund

As the Enrollment and Records Coordinator, Backlund manages professional development course listings, learner registration and enrollment, and course records. She works closely with instructors to manage course rosters, collect grades, process instructor payments, and ensure courses run smoothly from registration through completion. Backlund enjoys improving systems, learning new technologies, and finding efficient solutions to ensure a smooth process for instructors and learners.

Before joining the Office of Teaching and Learning in 2026, Backlund spent 24 years as a successful high-school mathematics teacher in the Fargo/West Fargo area and also served as an adjunct instructor for NDSU. She earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from NDSU. This role is a natural fit, allowing her to support fellow educators while giving back to her alma mater.
