Kelly Monroe

Kelly earned her Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications from Minnesota State University Moorhead in 1994. Throughout her career at North Dakota State University, she held a variety of positions that have given her a broad understanding of the university and the student experience. After working in NDSU's Registration and Records Office, she discovered her interest in academic advising and helping students achieve their educational and career goals.

To further pursue that interest, Kelly completed a Master of Science in Counseling and Student Affairs at Minnesota State University Moorhead in 2012. She also fulfilled the requirements to become a school counselor and worked as a junior high school counselor in North Dakota. In 2024, she began serving as an academic advisor in the School of Nursing before transitioning to the College of Business. Kelly enjoys meeting new students and supporting them as they navigate their academic journey and prepare for their future careers.

Outside of work, Kelly lives in Fargo with her dog, Laila, and is grateful to have all three of her adult children living in the Fargo–West Fargo area. She especially enjoys spending time with her two granddaughters, watching football, and exploring new crafting projects.
