Zane Voglewede - Advisor for undergraduate business students with last names starting with A through D

Zane (he/him/his) is an academic advisor for the College of Business and works with students majoring in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Management, Management Information Systems, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, and Global Business. He is very excited to help students explore their interests and passions, create academic schedules for each semester, and make strides toward timely degree completion as well as personal goals. Zane is a strong believer in and advocate for higher education and the diverse, enriching opportunities and experiences it can offer.

Zane earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication Arts & Literature Instruction as well as a Bachelor of Arts in English from Minnesota State University Moorhead. Prior to joining NDSU, Zane taught and advised students as a composition instructor for the University of North Dakota while earning his Master of Arts in English.

Zane grew up and has lived in Fargo much of his life with his family. Some of his favorite hobbies outside of work are reading fantasy novels, playing single-player video games, listening to video game soundtracks, and playing casual tennis. If there is a book or game you really enjoy or that you are looking forward to, he would love to hear about it! Zane also appreciates opportunities to travel with family to visit national and state parks, hiking as many trails as they can fit in the trip.

What Academic Advisors Do:

  • Advise students on understanding the academic curriculum, including course selection, major fit, policies, procedures, and available campus resources
  • Assist students with academic planning and registration, beginning with an individual appointment/summer orientation and continuing each semester throughout their time at NDSU
  • Support students experiencing academic difficulty by offering strategies to improve performance and connecting them with services such as ACE Tutoring, the Center for Writers, and the Counseling Center
  • Meet with students who are exploring or considering a change of major
  • Help students identify and understand opportunities to enhance and maximize their overall NDSU experience
