We invite applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position (9 month). Applications from under-represented groups, and women are especially welcome.

Applicants with expertise and interest in industrial microbiology are encouraged to apply. Such a program may broadly include, but is not limited to, synthetic microbiology and genome engineering, biotechnology, microbial metabolic engineering, metabolic network analysis and reconstruction, leading to biocatalytic valorization and new use of agricultural waste products. The successful candidate will develop a strong extramurally funded research program and contribute to academic governance through service to the department, college, university, and to their scientific discipline. Contribution to the undergraduate and graduate teaching mission is expected. Applications from candidates with an interest in developing innovative teaching methods and contributing to developing courses/ programs in industrial microbiology to enhance local scientific talent and outreach to agricultural industries in the area are welcomed.
