The School of Natural Resource Sciences is a teaching, research, and service division in the College of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Natural Resources. The School offers academic programs leading to degrees in Entomology, Natural Resources Management, Range Science, and Soil Science.

The vision, mission, and core values of the School are in-line with the land grant, three-fold purpose of teaching, research, and extension. Our School’s efforts are centered on the foundation of North Dakota’s strengths, its agriculture and natural resources.

Vision Statement: “Discovering and implementing solutions for healthy agriculture and natural resources.”

Mission Statement: To serve North Dakota’s agricultural and natural resource communities through exploration, interaction, and education.

Core values: 1) To be nationally recognized in our research, extension, and teaching activities, 2) To be accountable to our ND Stakeholders, 3) To transform and improve North Dakota’s agricultural and natural resources, 4) To have our students contribute to North Dakota’s agriculture and natural resources.
