Why I chose NDSU

I chose to attend NDSU because it offers the Equine Science major and Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies minor.

Why I chose a major in the College of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Natural Resources

I grew up with an agriculture background and felt that NDSU offered the best education for what I wanted to study.

Scholarships lead to a better financial future

I have received many scholarships from amazing external donors as well as through the College of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Natural Resources. Scholarships are important to me because they allow me to get an education that won’t negatively impact my financial future.

Club involvement offers learning opportunities and connections

I am involved in the Human-animal Interaction Club (anthrozoology) as well as Bison Strides at the NDSU Equine Center. I feel that involvement in clubs is important because you gain more opportunities to learn and make connections.

Internships expand learning beyond the classroom

I completed an internship at Poppy’s Promise in Bismarck, ND, where I worked as a Registered Behavioral Technician to children and teens with autism. I worked with clients to improve behavior and learn skills to be used in their everyday life.

My greatest NDSU memory

My greatest memory at NDSU is being involved with Bison Strides to make a difference to people in the community. I also enjoyed being with friends at football games.

My future plans

I plan to continue my education to achieve a career as a school-based speech language pathologist and implement horses into other aspects of my career.
