Stark-Billings 4-H

No! 4-H began as a program for rural children, but today 4-H is available for all children whether they live on a farm or in the city.

Each club is different, the county does not charge "dues" to join 4-H. The club that you join may charge a small fee to help pay for activities or supplies.

The 4-H year runs from September 1 to August 21, and any youth member ages 5-18 as of September 1 may join. Families can join at any time before May 1. May 1st is the last day to add or drop projects to enter into our 4-H Achievement Days. The sooner you are enrolled, the more activities members are able to participate in, such as judging events done throughout the winter months.

Any youth member ages 5-18 as of September 1 are eligible to join. Youth ages 5-7 are enrolled as Cloverbuds, where they can explore their interests in a supportive environment. Youth ages 8-18 are enrolled as a 4-H Member and can participate in the competitive aspects of our local and state 4-H program.

The 4-H program is a community-based program that primarily meet in a community club. At club meetings, 4-H members learn valuable life skills in a "learn by doing" approach with other families. 4-H also offers opportunities to learn outside the club meetings through educational workshops, judging activities, and other events.
