HIGHLIGHTS OF 2025

IMPACTS ON YOUTH

Approximately 785 youth participated in 16 projects. Project leaders reported their youth:

  • Developed skills in gardening and science.
  • Learned how to eat a healthy diet and enjoyed being physically active in the garden.
  • Gained experiences in helping their community through public service projects.
IMPACTS ON COMMUNITIES

These projects:

  • Established gardens at schools and day care centers to support their educational programs.
  • Established public gardens in communities to foster healthy diets, physical activity and food security.
  • Beautified schools, parks, day care centers, government buildings, libraries and city streets.
  • Donated 21,200 pounds of fresh vegetables to food banks, churches, school lunch programs, senior care centers and needy families.
  • Provided at-risk youth with at-risk youth with opportunities to grow a garden.
  • Forged partnerships among businesses and organizations in communities.
