The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry offers programs leading to the Master of Science (M.S.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees in either Chemistry or Biochemistry.
Programs of study are individually tailored to the needs of each student. Research programs encompass a broad range of molecular sciences. Many faculty have interdisciplinary research programs which either blend together the traditional divisions chemistry, biochemistry and molecular biology, or combine one of these divisions with those of physics, engineering, or materials.
