Image Component
The image component is your go-to component to feature a stand-alone image on a page. Each image component is intended to convey important information about the subject of your page and to pull in your reader's attention. Select images that are of an appropriate aspect ration for the best results.
The most appropriate aspect ratios for standalone image components in the site are 4:3 as seen below.

An image with a portrait orientation will respond to a similar width by selecting a "content width" which is the middle width available in the User Interface.

How to Add Images
To add an image, select the small plus sign to add a component within the layout paragraph interface. You will be given a variety of components to select from that are assigned to your level of roles and permissions. Select the image icon, then select the image you would like to upload or select from the existing media gallery.

If your image is newly uploaded, you will be asked to fill in metadata for the image. Most importantly, you will be required to enter alt-text for the image so that image can be "read" by a screen reader for visually impared users.

Next, choose a width for your image-- narrow, content, or wide. You can experiment to see which width works best for the flow of the page and the qualities of the image.

Now you're done! Adding text to divide up information and provide content as you seen on this page tells a story. Please remember that your Metadata tools will also also you to add captions and copyrights to photos where appropriate.
